Lasik Laser
Procedures Available
At Sardana Eye Institute , we offer two different laser eye surgery treatments: LASIK and LASEK, depending on your suitability and requirements. Options for surgery treatment are either a conventional or femtosecond IntraLase procedure, as well as the option of choosing to have an Advanced Zyoptix treatment.
Lasik
Lasik is the most advanced of all the refractive surgical procedures and is used to treat most refractive errors. First performed for vision correction in 1991, it combines the excimer laser with the first part of another procedure called Automated Lamellar Keratectomy, commonly referred to as ALK. Because of the excimer laser, this procedure has a high degree of predictability. In the first part of the procedure, a thin flap of corneal tissue is created and moved over as though on a hinge. Next, the computer driven excimer laser is used to reshape the underlying tissue. Finally, the surface layer is repositioned.

Lasik
LASEK is a refractive surgery technique. The motivation behind LASEK was to find a surface ablation technique like PRK that induced less discomfort, offers a lower incidence of corneal haze, and provides the patient with faster vision recovery time.

Advanced Zyoptix
The very latest development in laser eye treatement is called Zyoptix, a system that takes LASIK to a new frontier. It is the fully integrated personalized correction system that helps patients achieve better quality of vision. Through wavefront-guided customised ablation, this latest advancement in refractive surgery enables the treatment to be personalised to individual patient. Higher order aberration,ie irregularities of the eye can be diagnosed with the aberrometer/machine and the treatment will then be calculated using an advanced software.

IntraLase
The Intra Lase Method is a 100% blade-free approach to creating your conrneal flap, the thin folds back in order to perform your LASIK procedure. In this method, tiny pulses of laser light pass harmlessly through the outer portion of your cornea to a preprogrammed depth and form a uniform layer of microscopic bubbles just beneath the surface of your eye.

Alternative Procedures
Not everyone is suitable for laser eye surgery but fortunately there is a well established, alternative solution.
